Kanne & Kruike

We are Leni and Marleen, since ages mother and daughter, and we're captivated by the same passion for beautiful, classic and bizar objects of ceramic art. To find one or the other we drive miles and miles as if it was our sacred quest. We visit brocantemarkets, antique fairs and collectors exibitions in the hope to find that one thing that is made with expert hands, off an ultimate beauty.

 "Lange Voorhout" in the Hague

Our main interest lies in European ceramics dating from 1850-1940, but a beautiful Royal Copenhagen teaservice from the 18e century could find it's way to our collection, although it isn't art deco or art nouveau. If we find something special and it's in a good condition there's a great chance we'll capture it like a bird of pray as a matter of speach.

We travel from fair to fair and don't hesitate to cross any borders, so that people can meet us in Holland or in a surrounding country and enjoy our happy and goodhumoured presence.

When we find something of interest we want to know as much as possible of it's origin and makers, and this means we have read tons of books and visited many museums. This means that most objects in our collection posses a rare beauty and that they have an interesting story to tell as well. Ofcourse We're always willing to exchange this knowledge with anyone interested.

This website and our store tries to affect you with the same virus, which has already busied us for many years.

We wish you much pleasure and maybe we'll meet in our store or at an antique fair.
